New Delhi: Tata Trusts has appointed Siddharth Sharma as CEO and Aparna Uppaluri as COO. His appointment will be effective from April 1, 2023. Tata Trusts holds a 66 per cent stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. Siddharth Sharma, 54, who was a civil servant for nearly two decades, had joined the Tata Group. He was heading the recently created sustainability portfolio. Till now the CEO of this trust was N Srinath, who was to retire at the end of 2022. Apart from this, the trustees of Tata Trusts have appointed Aparna Uppaluri, associated with the Ford Foundation, as the COO of the company. The business of Tata Group is spread in many areas.
Sharma, a civil servant, was in government service for almost two decades. He has worked in key ministries of Govt. He has worked as the Financial Advisor to the 13th and 14th Presidents of the country. For the first time the post of COO has been created in the trust. Uppaluri is the Program Director for India, Nepal and Sri Lanka at the Ford Foundation. Tata Trusts is one of the oldest charitable foundations in the country. It was established in 1892 by Jamsetji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group.

Tata Trusts has been working among the marginalized sections of the society for more than 100 years. The country’s first cancer care hospital was established by this trust. Along with this, it has also supported many major institutions. These include the Tata Center for Technology and Design at IIT Bombay, the Indian Institute of Social Sciences (IISc), the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), the Tata Memorial Center and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).
