TCS said in a statement on Monday that it has received an ‘advance purchase order’ from BSNL worth Rs 15,000 crore. With this announcement, the speculations going on for many months have come to an end. TCS was frontrunner for the deal from the beginning.

Mumbai Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., a consortium led by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). (BSNL) has got a contract worth Rs 15,000 crore for setting up 4G network. TCS said in a statement on Monday that it has received an ‘advance purchase order’ from BSNL worth Rs 15,000 crore. With this announcement, the speculations going on for many months have come to an end. TCS was frontrunner for the deal from the beginning.

TCS is the largest software exporter in the country. The share of the domestic market in the total revenue of the company is more than five per cent. BSNL provides fixed line and mobile services across the country except Mumbai and New Delhi. Private sector telcos are already providing 4G services and some have started offering 5G in select areas.
