Jharkhand Chamber has given suggestions to the government regarding measures to generate employment and increase revenue at the local level. In the workshop organized before the budget in Jharkhand, Chamber President Kishore Mantri welcomed the process of inviting suggestions for the budget by Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon. The Chamber President said that availability of adequate land will have to be ensured for setting up industries. Said that the Khasmahal land, on which people have been living or using it for 50-60 years, should be given ownership rights and made freehold. Not only this, the government must also consider freeholding the land of non-martial nature. As part of the measures to increase revenue, the Chamber President told the Finance Minister that one time settlement scheme should be implemented for early opening of closed iron ore mines, recovery of taxes outstanding for years on commercial vehicles and all types of outstanding taxes related to the Municipal Corporation. The government should also bring a one time settlement scheme for recovery. The Chamber President said that these measures will generate immediate income of several thousand crore rupees for the government.

Tribal Business Development should be formed in every district: Kishore Minister

The Chamber President suggested setting up Tribal Business Development in every district and making budgetary provisions for the development of the tribal community and increase in their income. Also said that a long term policy should be made in the budget of Jharkhand for sustainable industrial growth, women vendor markets should be made in every district of the state on the lines of vendor markets, Trade and Industry Commission should be formed, driving license should be issued in the state on the lines of passport office. Professionals should be authorized to make it. Not only this, the government should take the initiative to run CNG and electric buses in all the major cities of Jharkhand.

Abolish penalty for non-payment of business tax and charge interest: Chamber

Shri Minister said that Model Driving Training Institute should be established in the state to generate employment at the local level. It should be ensured to provide initial training to heavy motor vehicle drivers and sub drivers (conductors) of the unorganized sector. He said that there is a provision to pay tax for commercial vehicles in three months. If the tax is not paid due to any reason, a fine of 50 to 200 percent is charged, which is impractical. Instead of late fine, the fine should be converted into two percent interest.

Government should increase the budget of education and health: Jharkhand Chamber

The President of the Chamber also suggested to the Finance Minister of Jharkhand that the budget for education and health should be increased in the financial year 2024-25, so that quality education and health facilities can be available to the people up to the Panchayat level. Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon assured to consider the suggestions of Jharkhand Chamber President Kishore Minister. Apart from the secretaries of various departments, regional vice president of the chamber Nitin Prakash, Chaibasa Chamber president Madhusudan Agarwal, member Pramod Chaudhary and other members were present in the workshop.
