The goal of the Chinese government is to fulfill people’s desire for a better life.

Every year 20 March is the International Day of Happiness. It was determined in the 66th United Nations General Assembly held in the year 2012. The resolution of the UN General Assembly states that happiness and well-being are the common goal and expectation of all people around the world. The then United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on the first International Day of Happiness that the pursuit of happiness is the root of effort. The international community should engage in sustainable development and build a happy future together.

The 2022 World Happiness Report states that Finland is the happiest country in the world, ranking first in the world for five years in a row. Denmark and Iceland ranked second and third respectively. Meanwhile, China moved up 12 places to rank 72nd, which is in the middle of the table. Congratulating the 70th anniversary of the issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that people’s happy life is the biggest human right. It is the goal of the Chinese government to satisfy people’s desire for a better life. As Xi Jinping pointed out, the dream of a happy life, the dream of a strong country, and the Chinese dream are actually the “happy dream” of the common people. Improvement in public life is the best explanation for it.

China has completed poverty alleviation in a timely manner, has historically completed alleviating poverty and building an overall prosperous society. China established the largest social guarantee system in the world, including pensions, medical guarantees and social assistance. China’s average life expectancy has reached 78.2 years, far ahead of upper middle-income countries. The discharge of major pollutants has decreased in China, which has greatly improved people’s living environment and is also realizing people’s dreams.
