According to the ministry, the maximum capacity (PRC) of the 28 coal mines included in the auction is 74 million tonnes per annum. The annual revenue from these mines at maximum capacity is estimated to be Rs 14,497 crore. With the commissioning of these mines, one lakh people are expected to get employment. Of the 106 coal mines in the seventh round of auction that began on Wednesday, 95 are non-coking coal mines, one coking coal mine and 10 lignite mines. The sale of tender documents will commence from March 29, 2023. Details of mines, auction conditions, timelines etc. can be seen on MSTC auction platform. The auction will be conducted online in two phases in a transparent manner on revenue sharing basis. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest and launch the next round of auction. Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi will preside over the event.
