New Delhi, 06 September (Hindustan Times). After trading volatile throughout the day, the domestic stock market closed with a slight gain for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday. The market today started mixed at a flat level. Market movement remained volatile throughout the day as buyers and sellers tried to dominate each other. The Sensex and the Nifty closed in the green on heavy buying during the last half an hour of trading. After the whole day’s trading, the Sensex closed with a gain of 0.15 percent and the Nifty by 0.18 percent.

During today’s trading, there was vigorous buying in the shares of Telecommunications, Oil & Gas, FMCG and Pharmaceutical sectors. The FMCG index closed with a gain of 1 percent today. Similarly, Oil & Gas and Pharmaceutical index closed with a gain of 0.5 percent. On the other hand, the stocks of metal, realty and banking sector remained in a declining trend today. Broader market also saw dull trading today, BSE’s midcap index closed with a gain of 0.13 percent today. On the other hand, the Smallcap index ended the day’s trade with a loss of 0.04 per cent.

Today, due to the boom in the market, the wealth of the investors of the stock market increased by about 72 thousand crore rupees. The market capitalization of listed companies on BSE rose to Rs 317.36 lakh crore (provisional) after today’s trade. Their market capitalization was Rs 316.64 lakh crore on the last trading day i.e. Tuesday. In this way, investors got a profit of about 72 thousand crore rupees from today’s business.

Today, there was active trading in 3,791 scrips on BSE during the day’s trade. Of these, 1,956 shares closed with gains. 1,689 scrips declined and 146 scrips closed flat. Active trading took place in 2,049 scrips on NSE today. Of these, 1,025 shares closed in the green mark by earning profit and 1,024 shares closed in the red mark by taking losses. Similarly, out of 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 14 closed with gains and 16 closed with losses. Out of 50 stocks included in Nifty, 29 stocks closed in green mark and 21 stocks closed in red mark.

The BSE Sensex today opened at a level of 65,744.19 points with a weakness of 36.07 points. As soon as the trading started, there was a tug of war between buyers and sellers, due to which the movement of this index remained volatile. Till 2 pm, there was heavy selling pressure on the market, due to which this index fell by 292.23 points to reach the level of 65,488.03 points. After this, buying momentum started building in the market, due to which the movement of this index also started improving.

During the last half an hour of trading, the buyers put full force, due to which the Sensex recovered more than 480 points from the lower level and gained 190.87 points to reach the level of 65,971.13 points. After the whole day’s buying and selling, the Sensex closed at a level of 65,880.52 points with a gain of 100.26 points. In contrast to Sensex, NSE’s Nifty started trading at 19,581.20 points with a marginal gain of 6.30 points.

As soon as the market opened, the movement of Nifty also started fluctuating. Due to continuous selling pressure, the index fell by 83.40 points to 19,491.50 points by 2 pm. However, thereafter this index also started recovering with the support of buying. Due to vigorous buying around 3 pm, the index jumped more than 140 points from the lower level to reach a level of 19,636.45 points with a gain of 61.55 points. The Nifty ended today’s trade at 19,611.05, up 36.15 points after a day’s buying and selling.
