Search and rescue teams have not been able to locate the missing Indian-origin climber who reached the summit of Mount Everest on May 19 despite their best efforts. The climber’s wife gave this information in an Instagram post on Saturday. Srinivas reached the top of Mount Everest on 19 May. He then sent a message to his wife, telling her that he had reached the summit of Everest. He was told that he had suffered ‘cerebral oedema’ and was unlikely to come back down. ‘Cerebral edema’ is a disease occurring at high altitude, which can also prove to be fatal. Nepal Guide Treks and Expeditions, one of the companies that co-organised Srinivas’ expedition, told The Strait Times that a group of three Sherpas each was searching for the Singaporean. Srinivasa’s wife wrote that despite their best efforts the search and rescue team had not been able to locate Srinivasa.
