The number of museums is increasing in Tibet

A few days ago, the world’s highest museum above sea level, the Ali Museum in the Ali Prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region opened, adding a new member to the group of museums in Tibet.
Presently the number of museums in Tibet is increasing continuously. During the peak tourist season, the Tibet Museum has become a must-see attraction for many tourists, and young people form the main force of visitors.
The Tibet Museum opened in the year 1999, and then it took 5 years to build. The new museum will open in the year 2022. 5 lakh 20 thousand cultural relics are preserved in this museum, including eighteen categories of archaeologically discovered cultural relics, seals and seals, thangkha paintings, ancient texts, sculptures, Buddhist religious equipment, etc.
In recent years, prefecture-level comprehensive museums have been opened one after another in various cities of Tibet, such as the Shannan Museum and the Shigaze Museum. In addition, there is the Changtu Museum, a prefecture-level museum with the largest collection of cultural relics, with more than 10,000 pieces of various cultural relics.
Apart from these, thematic museums are also the main attraction of the group of museums in Tibet. The Tibet Yak Museum is the only museum in China dedicated to yaks and yak culture. The Shigaze Stone Carving Art Museum, on the other hand, displays some of the finest stone carving art in Tibet from the 7th century to the 19th century. Apart from these, the Liberation Memorial Museum of One Million Slaves in Tibet, Tibetan Incense Stick Museum, Tibetan Coin Museum, etc. are also available in Tibet.
