Some of the big promises made by BJP in 2019 include abolishing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, removing the obstacles in the construction of Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya, making a law to abolish triple talaq and now implementing CAA. Has been worn. Talking about the biggest promise, the Modi government could not fulfill the Uniform Civil Code (NRC) for five years. As an exception, UCC has definitely been implemented in Uttarakhand. Due to the way the Modi government has fulfilled the promises, a lot has been changed in the 2024 general elections after the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but in ten years the Modi government could not gain the trust of the Muslims. The trend of distance of Muslim voters from BJP continues even today.

Only about 8 percent Muslims voted for BJP in all the elections, but the government seems to be satisfied with this. Government representatives say that the way appeasement politics was promoted in the country, it is not easy for BJP to win the hearts of Muslims. That is why even a law like CAA is facing opposition among Muslims, even though it has nothing to do with any citizen of India. CAA is not a law to take away anyone’s citizenship but to give Indian citizenship to the minorities of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who have been suffering for years due to being minorities in their countries.

It is noteworthy that when the Citizenship Amendment Bill was brought in the year 2019, there were movements against it in the entire country. At that time the Muslims involved in the movement believed that this law was discriminatory. Under this, there is a provision to give citizenship to non-Muslims coming from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, but this facility has not been given to Muslims. This thought settled in his mind that the citizenship of Muslims could also be in danger due to this law. This was the reason why the earlier voting pattern of Muslims continued in the state assembly elections held after 2019. In the year 2020, the Grand Alliance got 77 percent Muslim votes in the Bihar Assembly elections. Trinamool Congress got 75 percent Muslim votes in the 2021 West Bengal elections. 79 percent Muslims voted for SP in the 2022 UP Assembly elections. The reason for this was that these parties were successful in manipulating Muslims against BJP.

However, now the atmosphere has changed a lot. Barring exceptions, all Muslim religious leaders are telling their community not to have any misconceptions about this law, because it will not cause any harm to any Muslim. No one will lose their citizenship, but leaders like Owaisi are definitely busy provoking Muslims in the name of CAA. As soon as the notification regarding CAA was issued, opposition parties have also started turning the doubts arising in the minds of Muslims into an issue so that they can prepare their strategy in terms of profit and loss in the Lok Sabha elections. Due to this, non-BJP parties can get benefit in many Lok Sabha seats. If we talk about Uttar Pradesh, about 29 Lok Sabha seats here are Muslim dominated. This is the reason why BJP had started preparations two years ago to woo the Pasmanda Muslim community. Danish Azad Ansari of Pasmanda community was made Minister of State in Yogi Government-II. Former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Tariq Mansoor was made the National Vice President of BJP and sent to the Legislative Council. 29 seats in UP are Saharanpur, Sambhal, Rampur, Moradabad, Amroha, Kairana, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Bijnor, Nagina, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Shravasti, Bahraich, Dumariaganj, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kaiserganj, Gonda, Barabanki, Badaun and Amla etc. Muslims are in majority.

Not only this, in the local body elections, BJP had fielded Muslim candidates for the posts of Nagar Panchayat President, Municipal Council President and Councilor. Five Nagar Panchayat presidents and 90 councilors and councilors were elected. BJP strategists are explaining to Muslims that Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested Saudi Arabia to not only increase the Haj quota for Muslims but also reduced the GST on it from 18 percent to 5 percent. Modi government itself has done the work of digitizing the documents of more than 6 lakh Waqf boards and Waqf properties. Regarding CAA, Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, executive member of Muslim Personal Law Board and Imam of Lucknow’s Aishbagh Eidgah, told the Muslims that it is not right to present their views on the issue of notification on CAA. The view can be presented only after studying the released draft on CAA. Appealing to the public, he said that they should not pay attention to any kind of rumors regarding CAA and maintain peace.
