seoul (Uttam Hindu News): South Korean tech giant Naver on Tuesday said it will unveil a web platform-based robot operating system (OS) for the first time in the world.
Naver is joining the ‘Leap 2024’ event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this week with Google, Apple, Meta Platform, AWS and other global tech giants.
According to its officials, during the event the Korean company will introduce “ARC Mind powered by Whale OS”, the world’s first web platform-based robot OS, which will help robotics developers around the world create various robot services.
As Yonhap news agency reports, ARC Mind will support the connection of existing applications with robot services and will include a web application programming interface for control, cognition and movement of the robot.
Naver said it plans to first implement ARC Mind on its robots, which is faster and lighter than the native robot OS, and later create an open ecosystem.
During the event the company will also unveil a next-generation robot platform co-developed with Samsung Electronics.
The two companies have jointly developed a robotics edge computing platform combining Naver’s OS and software solutions and Samsung’s semiconductor solutions, including system on chip and image sensors.
