There may be an attempt on my life in jail, claims former Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has claimed that another attempt could be made on his life through “slow poisoning” in jail as he has refused to leave the country. Since I will not agree to leave my country, there is, of course, a danger that they (a reference to powerful parts of the country) will try to make another attempt on my life while I am in jail. This could also be an attempt at slow poisoning, Khan said in a message shared by his family and posted from his X account on Friday.

71-year-old Khan is lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail in the Sifar case. Saying that he is physically fit at the moment, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief said that I will know if my body is experiencing a change from weakness. But they have already made two public attempts on my life. Khan’s claim via Khan was arrested in August after a case was registered against him for disclosing a secret diplomatic cable (cipher) sent by the country’s embassy in Washington in March last year.

A special court in Pakistan on Monday convicted him along with his close aide and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the case. Further, claiming that all the cases against him are completely “fake and politically motivated”, Khan said that these cases have been fabricated only to keep me in jail till after the elections or perhaps even longer than the elections. .
