OpenAI said in a statement that a thoughtful review process was followed by the board. Following which it was concluded that he was not consistently clear in his communications with the board.
OpenAI, the original creator of ChatGPIT, announced Friday that it has fired Sam Altman as the company’s CEO and co-founder. OpenAI said the board had lost confidence in his ability to lead. OpenAI said in a statement that a thoughtful review process was followed by the board. Following which it was concluded that he was not consistently clear in his communications with the board. Due to which his ability to perform his responsibilities was being hindered. Its Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Mira Muratti will take over as interim CEO and OpenAI will search for a permanent CEO, the statement said.
Confirming the news, Altman wrote on X that I loved my time at OpenAI. It was a little transformative for me personally and hopefully for the world. Most of all I liked working with such talented people. There will be more to say later about what lies ahead. Backed by substantial funding from Microsoft, OpenAI kicked off the generic AI trend last November with the release of its ChatGPAT chatbot. Within no time it became one of the fastest expanding software applications in the world.
It is noteworthy that OpenAI was started in 2015. Sam Altman and Greg Brockman started this company in a room. At that time Elon Musk was also a part of this company. But in the year 2018, he separated himself from OpenAI. After releasing ChatGPT, Altman became the face of OpenEye.
