Among the Sensex companies, shares of Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Power Grid, Larsen & Toubro, NTPC, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries gained the most. Whereas shares of JSW Steel, Infosys, ITC and Mahindra & Mahindra declined.

In other Asian markets, China’s Shanghai Composite, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, Japan’s Nikkei and South Korea’s Kospi were among the gainers. US markets closed with mixed sentiment on Friday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.51 per cent higher at $83.98 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) had sold shares worth Rs 2,144.06 crore on Thursday.
