Third “Democracy,The “Shared Value of All Mankind” International Forum was held on March 20 in Beijing, the capital of China, which was attended by more than 200 distinguished guests from various countries, regions and international organizations. They deliberated on topics like “Modernization of Democracy and Governance”, “Democracy and Rule of Law in the Digital Age”, “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Democracy”, “Democracy and Global Governance in a Multipolar World” etc.
Attendees underlined democracy as an important symbol of the advancement and progress of human civilization, noting its steadfast pursuit by the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people. Reflecting on the visit to China as characterized by a comprehensive exploration toward democratic development with distinctive Chinese characteristics, participants lauded the country’s efforts.
He highlighted China’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the democratic rights of its 1.4 billion citizens by harnessing the public’s collective enthusiasm, activism and ingenuity. He said this concerted effort catalyzed the “Chinese miracle,” marked by rapid economic growth and enduring social stability, thereby laying a strong foundation for the comprehensive revitalization of the Chinese nation with “Chinese-style modernization.”
Furthermore, attendees at the forum emphasized democracy as a universal value, essential to enhancing the security and well-being of all humanity. He stressed the imperative to respect the aspirations of developing countries in their pursuit of democracy, respecting the right of each country to freely choose its own development path. Advocating solidarity in the global community under the banner of democracy, he condemned prejudice and actions detrimental to peace.
