Thiruvalluvar statue unveiled in Cergy, France

The statue of the great South Indian saint Thiruvalluvar was unveiled in the city of Sergi, France on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the statue is “a beautiful testament to our shared cultural ties”.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the Prime Minister had made an announcement in this regard during his visit to Paris for Bastille Day in July and the unveiling of the statue is its “implementation”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the installation of the statue during his visit to France to attend Bastille Day celebrations, the External Affairs Minister posted on ‘X’.
The inauguration of the statue of Thiruvalluvar in Sergi, France is the implementation of that declaration. India’s Ambassador to France Javed Ashraf also informed about the unveiling of the statue in a post on ‘X’.
Modi said, “The statue of Thiruvalluvar in Cergy, France is a beautiful testimony of our shared cultural ties. Thiruvalluvar is a symbol of intelligence and knowledge. His writings inspire millions of people around the world.
