Tibet’s high-tech R&D investment in the past five years exceeds 4 billion yuan

Condition Recently, the 2023 Tibet Science and Technology Working Conference was held in Lhasa via video. Tibet launched the implementation of major scientific and technological projects such as Safe Tibet, Ecological Civilization, Population Health, Clean Energy, Tibetan Cultural Heritage and Protection, Mineral Resources, and Food Processing, and achieved positive progress in dealing with key core technologies.
In the past five years, Tibet’s social research and development expenditure has an annual growth rate of 17.5%; Fiscal science and technology expenditure accounts for 0.4% of GDP. The number of invention patents per 10 thousand people increased from 1.75 to 2.51. The number of high-tech enterprises reached 112, and the R&D investment exceeded 4 billion yuan.
In 2023, Tibet will uphold that science and technology are the primary productive force, talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force. Tibet will pursue the strategy of enriching Tibet with science and education, strengthening Tibet with talents and driving development with innovation, and grasp the importance of the fundamental and strategic supporting role and overall deployment of education, science and technology, and talents.
