Islamabad: The bitterness in the relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan has increased. The Taliban regime in Kabul has responded aggressively to Islamabad’s accusations of cross-border terrorism and the presence of TTP militants in the war-torn country. Afghanistan has rejected Pakistan’s claim that TTP is present inside Afghanistan. While top Pakistani military commanders have rejected this claim of Taliban. The Taliban say that the TTP not only has safe havens across the border but also has access to the latest weapons.
Increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan
The rise in terrorist incidents, targeted attacks, suicide bombings and assassinations in Pakistan has raised concerns of the military establishment and the government. TTP terrorists have been carrying out serial attacks while other terrorist groups have also joined hands with the group. Pakistan claims that TTP terrorists and groups operating in the country are getting support from Afghanistan. Pakistan has criticized the Taliban regime in the country for the lack of action against the group and its operatives.
Agreement reminded Pakistan
Afghanistan’s government has expressed its grave concern over Kabul’s inaction against the TTP, while the Taliban regime is hitting back at Islamabad by reminding them of the Doha Agreement. The agreement was signed between the group and the US which assured that Afghan soil would not be allowed to be used against anyone. A recent statement by the Taliban maintained this point and reminded Pakistan that the Doha Agreement was not signed with Pakistan but with the US.

TTP is unable to handle Pakistan
