Karachi: Two separate bomb blasts took place in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, killing three people, including a policeman, and injuring 20 others. The police gave this information on Tuesday. In the first incident, a blast hit a mosque in Kuchlak area of ​​the province’s Quetta district on Monday, killing a policeman and injuring 15 others.

A police officer said, “People were offering Maghrib prayers when the explosion took place in the mosque.” In the second incident, two people were killed and five others injured in a bomb blast in a market near Omar Farooq Chowk in Balochistan’s Khuzdar city on Monday. A senior police officer said the blast occurred when the market was crowded with women and children doing Eid shopping.

A senior police officer said, “Two people died and five others were injured in the blast. He said that as soon as the information was received, police and other law enforcement forces reached the spot. The injured persons and bodies were taken to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital. Bomb disposal squad officials are investigating both the places.

Preliminary investigation revealed that ‘Improvised Explosive Devices’ (IEDs) were planted in motorbikes parked near Omar Farooq Chowk and the mosque. The officer said, “It seems that the IED planted in the motorbike was controlled through remote.” Till now no banned organization has taken responsibility for this attack in Balochistan.

But in recent weeks this year, there have been several terrorist attacks in the province by banned organizations and terrorists, in which security forces and establishments have also been targeted. The banned Balochistan Liberation Army had recently claimed to have carried out three major terrorist attacks on Machh, Gwadar port and a naval base in Turbat in Balochistan. In this attack, security forces killed about 17 terrorists.
