UK launches second application process for Young Professionals Scheme visa for Indians

Under the reciprocal arrangement signed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak at the G20 summit in Indonesia in November last year, British nationals will also be offered the same visa to live and work in India.
The UK government on Tuesday launched its second application process for visas to the country for Indians aged 18 to 30 with undergraduate qualifications under the ‘UK-India Young Professionals Scheme’. The application process for UK visas under this scheme will end on July 27. It offers eligible young Indians the opportunity to live, work or study in the UK for up to two years. The British High Commission in New Delhi tweeted, “The second application process (ballot) for the Young Professionals Scheme has now begun.”
The British High Commission said, “If you are an Indian citizen aged 18-30 with an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, consider applying for an India Young Professionals Scheme visa. This application process for visa will close on July 27 at 1.30 pm.There are a total of 3,000 places available under the scheme for the year 2023 and UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) said most places were awarded in the first ballot in February. The remaining places will be chosen at random from this month’s application process.
Although entry to the process is free, applicants have been told they should only take part if they plan to apply for a visa, which costs £259, and are able to meet financial, educational and other requirements. Under the reciprocal arrangement signed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak at the G20 summit in Indonesia in November last year, British nationals will also be offered the same visa to live and work in India.
