Russia organized a ceremony to welcome him at the airport. Xi Jinping delivered a written speech at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport. In the speech, he said that on the invitation of President Putin, I made a state visit to Russia once again.
Ukraine had blown up the Crimea bridge
Last year too, Ukraine targeted a bridge in Crimea. The bridge connecting Russia to Crimea was badly damaged in the attack. A train passing by also came under the grip of the attack on the bridge. This goods train was carrying fuel which made the blast all the more terrifying. The attack was a major blow to Russia in what Putin termed as a ‘terrorist attack’.
