Ukraine claims to have shot down another Russian plane

Ukrainian media have shown footage purportedly showing a massive fire caused by the crash of a large warplane in the Krasnodar region on the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov.
Ukraine’s Air Force chief said that the army has shot down one of Russia’s aircraft on Friday, giving a crushing defeat to Russia. General Mykola Oleshchuk thanked Ukraine’s military intelligence for helping shoot down the Russian A-50 aircraft.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told the UN Security Council in New York on Friday that an air strike hit a residential building in the southern port city of Odessa as the war was being discussed.
He said two civilians were “seriously injured” and taken to hospital. Ukrainian media have shown footage purportedly showing a massive fire caused by the crash of a large warplane in the Krasnodar region on the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov.
The Russian military has not responded to Ukraine’s claim, but officials in Krasnodar said a plane had crashed. If confirmed, this would be the second incident of such downing of a plane in just over a month. Ukrainian officials had said that the country’s military had shot down an A-50 aircraft over the Sea of Azov on January 14.
