In the video, Vijayapriya Nithyananda, who describes herself as the so-called “Permanent Ambassador of the United States of Kailasa (USK)”, is seen speaking. This has raised questions about the group’s participation in sessions that have also been addressed by former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and other human rights experts. Self-styled godman Nithyananda is wanted in India on multiple charges of rape and sexual assault. He has been denying the allegations against him. He claims to have founded the so-called nation United States of Kailasa (USK) in 2019 and according to its website, its population includes two billion devout Hindus.
