Iran’s foreign minister, a senior Russian envoy and top diplomats from France and Germany will attend a session of the UN’s top human rights body starting on Monday. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will open this session. On Monday, the session will be addressed by the presidents of Congo, Montenegro and Colombia, besides Guterres, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov is expected to attend on Thursday. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is likely to address the session through digital medium on the same day. “We will continue to highlight the mistreatment of Uighurs and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang,” said Michelle Taylor, the US ambassador to the UN Human Rights Council.
