This year, when the Government of India was expecting a record breaking wheat production, the unseasonal rains, hailstorm and strong winds in the month of March caused tremendous damage to the crops standing in the fields of Annadata farmers, due to which a On the one hand, there is a possibility of a big setback to the government’s hopes of record breaking production, on the other hand, due to rain and hailstorm, the crops have been damaged on a large scale, due to strong winds with rain, the crop fell and got damaged. Due to which most of the Rabi season crops like Mustard, Wheat, Barley, Oats, Potato, Gram, Pea, Mango, Litchi etc. as well as various other fruits and flowers, greens and vegetables, medicinal plants are available in different states of the country. The crops of plants, spices etc. have suffered tremendous damage.

On this very burning issue related to the interest of farmers, the national convenor of All India Farmers Federation (IIFA) and national spokesperson of MSP Guarantee-Kisan Morcha, “Dr. Rajaram Tripathi”, a resident of Chhattisgarh, says that the famous saying of Chhattisgarh is that If you want to understand the meaning of the saying “Ashadh”, then you should look at the farmers badly affected by untimely rains and hailstorms. At this time, the hailstorm has razed the standing crop of wheat to the ground and has also broken the back of the farmers. The entire potato crop is rotting due to water-logging in the fields and with it the fate of these farmers. The strong winds destroyed the crops of mango, litchi and other seasonal crops. Mustard crop has also been badly affected. The farmers of spices and medicinal plants have also been badly affected. All the herbs and flowers with leaves like Safed Musli, Ashwagandha, Root Tulsi, Stevia and Insulin plant have suffered heavy losses. The worst condition has become of the farmers producing vegetables. The hailstorm has turned the soil of the ready crop of green vegetables. For the last few years, the central government is running away from the farmers. It is expected that in this hour of natural calamity, the government will stand with the affected farmers and release adequate assistance to them immediately. This will help the farmers to plant the next crop and in future the food requirement of the country will also be met and the credibility of the government among the farmers of the country will also increase.

On the other hand, farmer leader of Satyagraha Sangh Madhya Pradesh Deepak Pandey Mudgal says that rabi crops have suffered heavy losses due to hailstorm and rain in Madhya Pradesh. In 520 villages of 20 districts, the crop of 33 thousand 758 hectare area has been affected, wherever there has been hailstorm, the crop has been completely destroyed. Where the crop has fallen in the field itself due to rain, the quality of the produce will be affected and the farmer will have to bear the loss. There has been rain and hailstorm in 20 districts. That’s why we demand that loan recovery should be waived this time, outstanding electricity bills should be waived off, farmers should be compensated by conducting transparent survey within a week, this time the value of MSP should be doubled from the previous value, in Madhya Pradesh Care should also be taken to ensure that the farmers can reap the benefits of the defunct Bhavantar Yojana.

On the other hand, on the situation in Delhi, Haryana, NCR and Uttar Pradesh, Adesh Tyagi, General Secretary of Kisan Samiti, Ghaziabad, says that in most of the districts of this region, untimely rains, hailstorms and strong winds have badly damaged the crops of the farmers by showing their fierce form and creating havoc. Has done the work of ruining. Due to unseasonal rains, the crops of wheat, potatoes, pulses, fruits, flowers and vegetables etc. have suffered a lot in this area, farmers have suddenly faced a big financial crisis. He says that I demand Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to immediately conduct a survey of the damage done in the fields in the interest of the farmers and give compensation to the farmers. Provide financial relief by providing immediate compensation amount, so that the sowing cycle of upcoming crops is not affected due to lack of funds.

Anyway, if we look at the agricultural country India, about 70 percent of the population is dependent on agriculture in one way or the other, the unseasonal rains in the last one week have a huge negative impact on the annual income of this large section of the population.
