The US Army’s X-37B space plane left for another secret mission on Thursday. It is believed that this mission will continue for at least two years. Like some previous missions, this aircraft, which looks like a small space shuttle, will carry out many intelligence missions.
The aircraft took off after a delay of more than two weeks from schedule due to technical problems. There is no astronaut aboard it. SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket took off with this aircraft from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on Thursday night.
This American aircraft has been flying since 2010 and this is its seventh flight. Earlier, X-37B had stayed in space for almost two and a half years and this was its longest duration mission till date.
However, the Space Force official did not give information about how long the aircraft will remain in space this time. The Boeing-built X-37B resembles NASA’s retired space shuttle. It does not require any astronaut.
