US President Joe Biden’s dog, Commander Biden, has bitten at least 24 US Secret Service (USS) personnel. CNN has reported citing documents. Recent dog bites challenge us to adjust our operational tactics when commanders are present, CNN quoted an unnamed assistant special agent as warning in a June 2023 email. The warning came several months after the dog was removed from the White House after several bite incidents. Documented incidents of dog bites have involved members of the Secret Service’s uniformed division, members of the President’s protective detail, and other U.S. Secret Service officers.
The incidents occurred not only inside and outside the White House residence, but also at the Biden family homes in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Camp David and Nantucket, Massachusetts. According to a CNN news report, an unnamed Secret Service technician described an incident in October 2022 and said they were concerned about the family pet’s escalating behavior.
