With this, the work of Udhampur-Baramulla rail line in Jammu and Kashmir will be completed.

Special kind of ‘Vande Bharat’ train ready
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav further said that good progress is being seen on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line. Work for the construction of Chenab and Anji bridges and major tunnels is also underway and is progressing well. The train will start running on this route in December this year or in January-February next year. A specially designed ‘Vande Bharat’ train is being prepared for this line. He said that everything like temperature, snow has been kept in mind while making this special train.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Rs 6,000 crore has been allocated for the railway project in Jammu and Kashmir in this year’s budget. He said there were technical reasons for the delay as well. The Himalayas are new mountains, which means they are soft and tunneling is difficult here. However, the Railway Minister said that all major challenges have now been overcome and all difficult tasks have been completed. Describing the Chenab Rail Bridge as an excellent piece of engineering, the Minister said that it is one of the highest bridges in the world and the highest railway bridge in the country.
