Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar represented India at the historic coronation ceremony of Britain’s King Charles III at Westminster Abbey here on Saturday. Dhankhar, who arrived here on Friday, attended the ceremony along with around 100 heads of state from across the world. The coronation ceremony was performed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, with representatives from the Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish communities. Dhankhar and his wife sat with other heads of state of the Commonwealth countries at the ceremony. In a tweet, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar joined other Commonwealth leaders at a special event hosted by King Charles III at Marlborough House, London. Talked with Commonwealth leaders to make the Commonwealth stronger and more purposeful.” British-Indian chef Manju Malhi was among 450 British Empire Medal winners invited to the ceremony.
