According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry statement, Jaishankar expressed concern about the condition of the 17 Indian crew members and requested assistance from Iran in this regard. “We are actively monitoring the situation surrounding the seized ship, and arrangements will be made soon for representatives of the Government of India to meet the crew members of the ship,” Abdullahiyan was quoted as saying. Here MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) had said on Saturday that it is working closely with the concerned authorities for the release of 25 crew members and the return of the ship.
India is continuously talking to Iran for the release of Indians.

Special naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) seized the ship ‘MSC Aries’ due to its links with Israel. Hours after Iran’s action, White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said the ship’s crew included Indian, Filipino, Russian, Pakistani and Estonian citizens.
Iran raised the issue of Gaza crisis with India
Iran’s Foreign Minister urged the Indian government to continue its active role through international organizations including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to stop the war in Gaza. Abdullahian said Gaza is the epicenter of the current crisis in the region.
