New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): The Indian Banks Association (IBA) has submitted a proposal to the government, demanding that every Saturday be declared a holiday in all the banks of the country. According to Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad, this proposal has been given by IBA. If the government accepts this proposal then there will be work in banks only for five days every week.
In fact, there has been a demand from government and private banks for a long time to work five days a week. Public sector banks have made this demand to the government several times. In response to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad said that the Indian Banks Association has submitted a proposal to the government. The proposal demands work five days every week. The banks are demanding that every Saturday and Sunday be declared a bank holiday.
Let us tell you that currently there are holidays in all banks only on two Saturdays in a month. According to a rule implemented in the year 2015, only two Saturdays in a month will be closed in banks. This order of the government applies to all private and government banks. No bank will remain closed for more than two Saturdays.
