World Digital Education Conference inaugurated in Beijing

World The Digital Education Conference opened in Beijing on 13 February. The two-day conference is being organized through online and offline mode with the theme of “Digital Transformation and the Future of Education”. Delegates from more than 130 countries and regions around the world registered to attend the conference. About 50 diplomatic envoys in China and representatives of international organizations, as well as presidents of several well-known universities, participated in the conference offline.
The conference will discuss topics such as digital transformation, development and application of digital learning resources, improving digital literacy of teachers and students, and digital education governance. Chinese Smart Education Blue Book, Smart Education Development Index, and Smart Education Platform Standards, etc. will be released. Simultaneously, the Establishment Initiative of the World Digital Education Alliance and the World Digital Education Development Cooperation Initiative will also be released.
According to the relevant official of the Chinese Ministry of Education, so far China has built the world’s largest education resource center. The national smart education public service platform has users covering more than 200 countries and regions. As of 10 February 2023, the total number of views on the platform exceeded 6.7 billion, and the number of visitors exceeded 1 billion. The National Smart Education Public Service Platform was formally launched on 28 March 2022, integrating three major resource platforms of primary and secondary school, vocational education and higher education.
