Xi Jinping holds talks with President of Kyrgyzstan

Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks in Xi’an on the morning of May 18 with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadar Nergozovich Japarov, who arrived in China to attend the China-Central Asia Summit and pay a state visit. The two presidents announced the elevation of China-Kyrgyzstan relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era. Xi Jinping said that China-Kyrgyzstan Relations have been established for 31 years, and China is willing to work with Kyrgyzstan to build a China-Kyrgyz community of good neighborliness and friendship, and shared prosperity, so as to contribute to the development and revitalization of the two countries.

He stressed that China and Kyrgyzstan should enhance mutual support, especially clearly and firmly support each other’s core interests. Both the countries should become good friends trusting each other. There is a need to strengthen the docking of development strategies and policy coordination, and promote practical cooperation in various fields, with high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road”. Should improve the level of economic and trade cooperation, promote the construction of people’s livelihood projects and cooperate in poverty alleviation, rural revitalization and other areas, and need to start the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway as soon as possible Is.

Xi Jinping also said that China would like to increase imports of high-quality agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan and encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest in Kyrgyzstan. The two sides also need to strengthen local cooperation, expand people-to-people exchanges, and build a solid social and public opinion foundation for the development of bilateral relations. In addition, security cooperation should be deepened, so as to provide a better and safer environment for the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” and the development and construction of the two countries.

During the talks, President Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan-China relations are currently in the best phase in history. Kyrgyzstan supports China’s unshakable stand on issues concerning its core interests such as Taiwan, Xinjiang and Hong Kong, and supports the global security initiative and global development initiative proposed by China. Kyrgyzstan is willing to work with China to maintain close communication and coordination, stick to mutual support, and jointly promote national and regional security and development. Japarov also said that Kyrgyzstan will make every effort to provide a safe and sound investment environment for Chinese enterprises, and will continue to promote the joint construction of the “Belt and Road”.
