Zomato withdraws green uniform of veg fleet

Zomato Has withdrawn the green uniform of its wedge fleet within a day. Zomato’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Deepinder Goyal announced this and gave this information to the people on the social media platform X. He wrote on social media that although we will continue to have a fleet for vegetarians, we have decided to remove the ground isolation of this fleet by using green color. All our riders – both our regular fleet and our fleet for vegetarians, will be wearing red. This means that the fleet meant for vegetarian orders will not be recognized on the ground but will be shown on the app that your vegetarian orders will be served only by the vegetarian fleet. This will ensure that our red uniform delivery partners are not wrongly associated with non-veg food, and are not blocked by any RWA or Society during a particular day… The physical safety of our riders is of paramount importance to us .
Zomato started offer for vegetarian customers
Deepinder Goyal posted on the social networking platform ‘X’ and said that India has the largest vegetarian population in the world. He said that new services have been started on the basis of feedback from such customers. India has the highest percentage of vegetarian population in the world and the most important feedback we got from them is that they are very serious about how their food is cooked, and how their food is transported. He said that to address their dietary preferences, we are today launching ‘Pure Vegetarian Medium’ with ‘Pure Vegetarian Fleet’ on Zomato for customers who prefer 100 per cent vegetarian diet. Deepinder Goyal had said that the ‘pure vegetarian medium’ includes a selection of restaurants serving exclusively vegetarian food, excluding any establishments offering non-vegetarian items. He clarified that his step is not for any religious or political preferences.

Zomato had to face criticism
After the announcement of green uniform, there was a lot of debate on social media. The CEO of Zomato was criticized by a section on social media. However, Deepinder Goyal clarified that these food suppliers will exclusively deliver orders from pure vegetarian restaurants and will not handle any non-vegetarian food.
