At least 25 people were killed in shelling on a market in Russian-occupied Ukraine. Local officials gave this information on Sunday. He said the attack was carried out on Sunday morning in Tekstilshchik, a suburb of Donetsk city.
Denis Pushilin, a top Russian-appointed official in Donetsk, said 20 people, including two children, were injured in the attack. He said the shelling was carried out by the Ukrainian military. Ukraine has not commented on the incident and the claims could not be independently verified by The Associated Press.
Pushilin said that emergency service personnel are carrying out rescue operations at the spot. Meanwhile, local officials said a fire broke out following two explosions at a chemical transport terminal at Russia’s Ust-Luga port on Sunday.
Local media reported that the port was attacked by Ukrainian drones, causing a gas tank to explode and spread a fire. Yuri Zaplatsky, head of the port in the Russian-based Kingisepp region, said in a statement that there were no casualties in the incident, but the district had been put on “high alert.”
