Baltimore Bridge Collapse: All Indians in 22-member crew
The Governor of Maryland said that the 22-member crew of the ship that hit the bridge were all Indians and a warning message was issued before hitting the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which helped the authorities limit vehicle traffic. The ship collided with a pillar of the bridge, causing the structure to break at several points and fall into the water within seconds. The ship is owned by ‘Grace Ocean Private Limited’ and the ship was sailing from Baltimore to Colombo. Ship management company Synergy Marine Group said in a statement that the owners and managers of the ship “DALI” reported that the ship collided with a pillar of the ‘Francis Scott Key Bridge’ in Baltimore at about 01:30 local time on Monday.
An explanation was sought from all crew members
It said an explanation has been sought from all crew members and there are no reports of any injuries. There has been no pollution. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. The U.S. Coast Guard and local authorities have been notified and the owner and manager are cooperating fully with federal and provincial government agencies under an approved plan.
