The group claimed responsibility for the attack on an army post on Saturday in which seven soldiers, including two officers, were killed. The Afghan Taliban said at least eight civilians, including three children, were killed in Pakistani air strikes.
He summoned the Ambassador-in-Charge of Pakistan Embassy in Kabul and lodged a strong protest. Jean-Pierre said that Pakistan and Afghanistan should resolve their differences through dialogue. He said, “We are aware of reports that Pakistan carried out air strikes in Afghanistan in response to the attack on a military post in Pakistan on Saturday. “We deeply regret the loss of life and injuries during the attacks in Pakistan and the loss of civilian lives during the attacks in Afghanistan.” “We urge the Taliban to ensure that terrorist attacks are not carried out from Afghan soil,” Jean-Pierre said. “We urge Pakistan to exercise restraint and ensure that civilians are not harmed in counter-terrorism efforts.”
