Nijjar door posters
This Hindu temple was vandalized on Saturday midnight. Posters of Khalistan referendum have been pasted on the main door of the temple. Harjit Singh Nijjar’s picture is in these posters. The poster reads, ‘Canada is probing India’s role in the June 18 assassination.’ Hardeep Singh Nijjar was the head of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Surrey, Canada. On the evening of 18th June, he was murdered by two unknown persons in the premises of the Gurdwara. Nijjar was the chief of the separatist organization Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF). These posters also have photographs of Indian diplomats posted in Canada.
PM Modi had reached the temple in the year 2015
When the temple administration came to know about the incident in the morning, these posters were removed. Temple president Satish Kumar said he was “shocked” at the desecration of the temple. “We never expected anything like this,” he said. This is the same temple that was part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Canada. When he went to Canada in the year 2015, he also reached this temple. He has told that the information of the case has been given to the Surrey unit of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The ceremony is on 20 August
CCTV footage of two masked men was captured in the security camera of the temple. He said the temple was in touch with the police earlier also due to security concerns. Preparations are underway to organize Independence Day celebrations here on 20 August. The temple board will hold an emergency meeting on Sunday to discuss the vandalism.
