An Indian American engineer has claimed that he was fired from his job for speaking to a relative on the phone in Hindi. As per reports she was heard talking in Hindi on a video call with her brother-in-law in India. Reports say that she has now filed a lawsuit against the company alleging discriminatory practices. The incident happened last year when Indian American engineer Anil Varshney was overheard by his white colleague speaking in Hindi on a video call.

The lawsuit states that it arose out of the willful acts of the defendants to end Varshney’s highly prestigious engineering career. Varshney is a 78-year-old Indian American. Defendants abruptly fired Varshney after one of his white co-workers overheard him speaking Hindi. The lawsuit states that engineer Anil Varshney worked at the Parsons Huntsville office from July 2011 to October 2022. He was on a video call with his brother-in-law in an empty room for 2 minutes.
The company has said that he committed a security breach by using the FaceTime application at work and fired him. Varshney claims that there was no such policy on not taking calls. It is alleged in the lawsuit.
