Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were sentenced to 10 years in jail on Tuesday for violating privacy. According to ‘The Express Tribune’ news, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), citing the January 30, 2024 decision of the special court, said that according to the Constitution and law, no convicted person can participate in the elections. “Consequently, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been disqualified under Article 63(1)(h) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan read with Section 232 of the Election Act, 2017,” the ECP said on Saturday.
