Ayushman Bharat Yojana: Many welfare schemes are being run by the Government of India for the poor and needy people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ambitious health insurance scheme Ayushman Bhava for free treatment of the needy. The third phase of this scheme has been started.
In the third phase of this scheme, the process of making cards has been made much easier than before by the Central Government. The government is trying to include as many needy people as possible under this scheme and provide them the benefit of health insurance.
In such a situation, many times people ask the question whether Ayushman card can be made for people above the poverty line. So the answer is yes. The Central Government has made some amendments in the scheme. After this, now the benefits of the scheme can also be given to middle class people above the poverty line.
The National Health Authority (NHA) is now working on a plan to extend this scheme to ‘The Missing Middle’ i.e. those to whom the scheme has not reached. This will benefit the self-employed, professionals or people working in small scale industries (MSMEs).
To ensure that the beneficiary does not get into any trouble, the government has now started self-verification mode during registration. Where the beneficiary applicant is given OTP, Iris and Fingerprint and face-based verification options.
In case of Ayushman card not being made or any problem, two helplines at central and state level are also available for help. Any person can call the National Health Mission helpline number 180018004444 for help.
Under the scheme, expenses on medical examination, operation, treatment, transport, etc. are covered. To check the eligibility of the scheme, you can call 14555. Apart from this, you can also check your eligibility on pmjay.gov.in.
