Gautam Adani returns to the list of top 20 richest people in the world, placed at number 15

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has now become the 15th richest person in the world after the shares of Adani Group rose sharply by more than $12 billion. After the rise in shares of Adani Group in November, Adani was back in the list of the top 20 richest people in the world, now he is at number 15. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani is now the 15th richest person in the world with a net worth of $82.5 billion. After the rise in Adani Group’s shares on Tuesday, Adani’s wealth increased by more than $12 billion.
Adani Group’s market cap reached its highest level in 11 months in Tuesday’s trading which is Rs 13.8 lakh crore. Adani Group posted its best-ever market performance by adding Rs 1.92 lakh crore profit in a day. Tuesday’s strong gain also came after reports indicated that US International Development Finance Corp (DFC) did not find allegations of corporate fraud by short-seller Hindenburg Research to be true. Before granting a significant loan to the group for a port project in Sri Lanka, the DFC had reportedly thoroughly investigated the claims against the Adani Group.
All 10 Adani Group stocks gained 7-20 per cent, with Adani Green Energy and Adani Energy Solutions rising 20 per cent each. Group flagship Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) saw its share price rise by a staggering 16.91 per cent, taking its market valuation to Rs 48,809 crore. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) also had a solid performance with a 15.3 per cent rise in share price, contributing Rs 29,043 crore to the market cap.
Other shares in the group also gained and Adani Energy Solutions and Adani Green Energy Solutions gained 20 per cent each. Both the shares added over Rs 55,600 crore to the group’s market cap. Adani Power Ltd (APL) and Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL) gained 15.81 per cent and 19.88 per cent, respectively.
