Abbottabad (Uttam Hindu News): A woman and her eight children died in a tragic incident when the roof of a house collapsed due to a fire caused by a short-circuit in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Nine members of a family were trapped under the debris after the roof of a kutcha house in Abbottabad’s Tahari village collapsed due to a fire caused by a short-circuit, according to rescue officials. Locals initially recovered seven bodies from the debris while a rescue operation was underway for two other family members. Later the bodies of all nine family members were recovered from the debris. Rescue officials said the deceased family members included a mother and eight children.
It is noteworthy that in July this year, 10 members of a family, including an infant and a woman, died in a deadly fire when a refrigerator compressor exploded in a house in Bhati Gate area of Lahore. The dead included a man, his wife, two other women, five children and a seven-month-old baby. Only one member of the family managed to escape the deadly fire by jumping from the building. Rescue officials had confirmed that the fire was caused by an explosion in the refrigerator’s compressor. He said there was no ventilation in the house to let the smoke out.
