The Tarim Oilfield is located in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which is China’s largest ultra-deep gas field group. Starting this year, 14 new ultra-deep gas wells were put into production.

The Tarim Oilfield produced a total of 1 trillion 80 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Annual production capacity is 20 billion cubic meters. This ensured the supply of natural gas from the western region to the eastern region of China.

In recent years, there has been a large increase in natural gas production through technological innovation. The production efficiency rate remained above 95 percent. After decades of efforts, geological reserves of 16 trillion cubic meters of natural gas have been discovered in the Tarim Oilfield.

The Tarim Oilfield is the main source of the project to supply natural gas from the western region to the eastern region. Till March 22, 3 trillion 50 billion cubic meters of natural gas was supplied from here. This guaranteed gas production and subsistence for more than 400 million residents of 15 provinces, ethnic autonomous regions and union territories and 120 large and medium-sized cities.
