A side event on “Civil Organizations Cooperating to Promote Human Rights Protection and Sustainable Development” was held in Geneva, Switzerland on 12 March during the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
This side event invited experts, scholars and representatives of civil society organizations from home and abroad to exchange and discuss, and contribute public wisdom and strength to promote global sustainable development and human rights protection.
Zhou Qiqihe, deputy general secretary of the Chinese International Exchange Association, said Chinese social organizations actively support China’s human rights development, participating in international events such as the UN Human Rights Council and the Climate Change Conference and from a non-governmental perspective. Stackelberg, president of the Geneva-based Great Love Foundation, said that different countries should support each other in the spirit of brotherhood. He firmly believes that cross-border exchanges and contacts between civil society organizations are very important.
