Chinese President conducts inspection tour of Hunan province of south-central China – Dainik Savera Times

Chinese President Xi Jinping paid an inspection tour of Changsha, the capital of south-central China’s Hunan province, on March 18 afternoon. During this time, they visited Hunan First Normal University (academy campus in the south of the city) and BASF Shanshan Battery Materials Limited Company respectively. There, Xi Jinping taught the school the good use of resources related to the history of the CPC, the perseverance to develop people with morality, accelerating the development of new quality productive forces in the local area, and expanding high-level openness to the outside world. The predecessor of Hunan First Normal University (the academy complex in the south of the city) was Changnan Academy, founded in 1161 by the Southern Sung dynasty scholar Chang Xi. It is not only one of the cradles of modern teacher education in China, but also one of the birthplaces of the Chinese Communist Movement and the New Democratic Revolution. It is also one of the birthplaces of Mao Zedong Thought and Marxism with Chinese Characteristics.

The second stop of President Xi’s visit in Changsha city is BASF Shanshan Battery Materials Limited Co., Ltd., a joint corporation between Germany’s leading chemicals company BASF and Shanshan Co., ranked as one of the top 500 enterprises in China. This company was established in the year 2021, which has so far built a closed business loop covering raw materials, cathode material precursors, cathode active materials and waste battery resource utilization. Currently the company is committed to creating new chemical effects of cathode materials and finding a future with sustainable development.

On March 19, Xi Jinping came to Changte city in Hunan province. He traveled to Kangchongfing Village in Xiechaifu Town, Tingchang District, Changte-Ha Road in this city, where he participated in the restoration and utilization of historical and cultural blocks, comprehensive management of urban water environment, preparation for spring plowing, and grassroots governance efficiency. Took stock of the situation of improvements etc.

Later in the afternoon of the same day, Xi Jinping visited the grain production comprehensive demonstration area covering about 667 hectares in Xieqifu town. During his visit, President Xi visited rice fields, taking stock of the growth of paddy plants and the plowing of land. He interacted warmly with local major grain growers, agricultural technicians, grassroots workers and villagers there and actively took detailed information about spring plowing and ongoing preparations.

Meanwhile, President Xi Jinping underlined the vital importance of adequate preparation for spring plowing to ensure high grain yield and strengthen food security. Xi stressed the need for all sectors and departments to fulfill their responsibilities honestly. This includes ensuring the availability of land for spring sowing, refining agricultural management practices for the season, guaranteeing adequate supplies of agricultural inputs, and enhancing agricultural social services.

Simultaneously, Xi reiterated the importance of effectively implementing policies aimed at strengthening agriculture, benefiting farmers and improving their livelihoods. Along with promoting the enthusiasm of farmers towards agricultural activities, it is also necessary to protect the income of farmers derived from grain production. By doing so, a strong foundation can be laid for increasing grain production and increasing farmers’ income throughout the year, promoting sustained agricultural growth and prosperity.
