Islamabad: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar said that his party had received 16.8 million votes. But the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition entered parliament with 22.5 million votes. In such a situation, it was a big mistake not to talk to him. Speaking to a private TV channel, he remarked that blaming some personalities of an institution means blaming not only that institution but the entire nation. He said that May 9 is a wake-up call, and everyone should take two steps back.

Assad is not leaving the party

Omar said, “I do not agree with the current strategy of the PTI chairman.” I have no intention of joining any other party except PTI. The vote bank is only of Imran Khan, not of anyone else. If Imran Khan is not there, the party will disappear. According to The News report, Omar said that those who are telling Khan that what he is doing is very good are actually doing PTI a disservice. In taking the decision, the senior political leadership was ignored, he said: We should have taken the election date that the government was giving us. Omar said that around 80 per cent PTI MPs were against the resignation.

Khan himself was not present at a meeting, but almost all senior party leaders were present, and all except Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the proposed election date should be accepted. I do not take any responsibility for this crisis within the party. In my opinion, Imran Khan should prepare himself to revise his current stand.

Imran said – will not surrender

The public decides the future of a leader, Omar said, adding that this does not mean that a leader who has committed a crime should be forgiven; He should be punished. Earlier, Imran Khan had said that even if the government puts him in jail, he will neither compromise nor surrender. Addressing the nation on YouTube on Sunday evening, Khan said his fight was for a better future for his country and its people.
