Moscow: The death toll in Friday’s terrorist attack on a concert hall in the Russian capital Moscow has increased to 143 while more than 100 people are injured. Russia’s Investigative Committee gave this information on Saturday. The committee said emergency services were continuing to clear debris from the Crocus City Hall in Moscow Oblast – the site of the terrorist attack – as more bodies were found there. After initial inspection the committee said that the terrorists used automatic weapons as well as live ammunition left in the concert hall.
The committee said that ballistic, genetic and fingerprint investigations are being done. The committee also said that it has been established that the terrorists had used flammable liquids to set the compound on fire. Russian intelligence agencies have detained 11 people, four of whom are said to be terrorists, in connection with the investigation into the attack on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall. It is believed that all of them were directly involved in the Crocus City Hall attack. The committee said four suspects were detained in the Bryansk region near the border with Ukraine. The terrorist organization Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the shooting and bombing at the Crocus Concert Hall in Moscow.
