New Delhi, 02 April (HS). The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday directed Vistara Airlines to provide daily information about flight cancellations as well as flight delays. The aviation regulator has given this order to the company in view of the delay in Vistara flights due to non-availability of crew members and many other reasons.
In a statement, aviation regulator DGCA said that in view of various flight disruptions at Vistara Airlines, it has asked the airline to provide daily information and details of canceled and delayed flights. DGCA officials are also monitoring the situation to ensure compliance with the requirements to provide facilities to passengers in case of flight cancellations and delays.
The airline canceled around 50 flights on Monday due to crew unavailability, while several flights were delayed. Vistara has decided to temporarily cut its flights amid the crew problem, with around 70 flights expected to be canceled today. Actually, the process of merger of Vistara Airline with Air India is going on.
