The farewell ceremony for the remains of Chinese dead in the terrorist attack in Pakistan was held on March 31 at Noor Khan Air Force Base in Rawalpindi city of Punjab province of Pakistan.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zedong, Pakistani officials, Chinese diplomats based in Pakistan, representatives of Chinese companies in Pakistan attended the event. Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army Chief and Air Force Chief sent flower garlands to express their condolences.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong said at the farewell ceremony that the deceased compatriots traveled thousands of miles to Pakistan and made important contributions to promoting Pakistan’s development and deepening China-Pakistan friendly cooperation. The biggest tribute to him is to find out the truth and give strict punishment to the murderers. The most powerful response to terrorists is to attack firmly and eradicate evil. China hopes and believes that Pakistan will expedite the investigation into the matter, enhance anti-terrorism efforts, and take all measures to guarantee the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan. China is willing to work with Pakistan to firmly promote China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperation, so as to accelerate the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
Pakistan’s Minister of Overseas Affairs and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain expressed deep condolences to the Chinese dead at the farewell ceremony. He strongly condemned the terrorist attack and said that Pakistan always stands with the Chinese government and people. Pakistan will thoroughly investigate the truth of the incident as soon as possible and bring the killers to justice. Any attempt to weaken the friendship between Pakistan and China will not succeed.
