Ihor Klimenko, chief of Ukraine’s national police, said Interior Minister Denis Monastirsky, Deputy Interior Minister Yevhen Yesenin and State Secretary of the Interior Ministry Yuri Lubkovich were killed in the accident. Klimenko said an emergency service helicopter crashed in Brovary, an eastern suburb of Kiev. Nine of the people who lost their lives in the accident were on board the helicopter and the other victims of the accident were apparently on the ground. Kyiv’s regional governor Oleksiy Kuleba said that 18 people, including three children, were killed and 25 were injured in the accident.
